Welcome to the Pan American School of Porto Alegre’s website.

The Pan American School of Porto Alegre (PAS) is a private, not-for-profit, bilingual, multicultural, P3-12th grade coeducational, secular school of approximately 400 students. PAS has been providing excellent personal and educational opportunities to our students since 1966.

Our aspiration is to prepare students for success in both their present and future educational studies and endeavors, and to develop them as international citizens with excellent moral values and the capacity to succeed with their future endeavors. Our students actively participate in advanced training activities such as Model UN, GIN, Student Leadership Conferences and electives, and numerous international summer programs. The vast majority of all eligible High School students participate in both online and in-house AP courses, which allow them to investigate subjects of high interest with rigorous content at a college level. PAS recognizes the uniqueness of each individual taking into account his/her learning styles, needs, and interests.

We trust that shared commitment and thoughtful planning, coupled with strong accountability systems, enable us to build an even more robust educational program that challenges all of our students to reach their fullest potential. School assemblies, town hall meetings, and community service projects are but a few examples of how we are improving our sense of unity by empowering the students to have a positive impact both inside and outside the school.

In addition to focusing on a strong sense of community, PAS offers internationally recognized academic programs utilizing innovative teaching methods that focus on the development of the whole child.

We achieve this by focusing on 21st century learning skills and reinventing our practices to better meet the needs of today's learners. We strive to realize this by preparing our students to solve real world problems, working in teams, and utilizing the technologies that are a part of their daily lives. We offer a wide variety of extracurricular and co-curricular activities to enrich students' personal growth and complement our academic programs. Through active involvement in these events and activities, students have the possibility of making new friends, applying critical thinking and problem solving skills, and participating in authentic collaboration and communication projects while expanding their understanding of the multicultural world in which we live.

PAS has come together as a community to provide not only strong academic preparation but also wellness, artistic, and musical opportunities to develop character and provide our students with the skills and habits they need to succeed now and in the future. We welcome you to explore our dynamic programs and learn more about our school and how we develop outstanding educational opportunities for everyone. We are PAS.
